I had a GREAT time! We crammed as much as we could into our short visit and tried to take
lots of photos to document what we saw and did.
The pics named "tour" are from our tour of the Kualoa Ranch on the east shore. This is a privately owned, 400+ acre cattle ranach that many a Hollywood movie and TV production has used for location filming. "Jurassic Park," "Godzilla" (the most recent one with Matthew Broderick), "Windtalkers," and TV's "Lost" are among the most prominent. We didn't have the best weather that day, but the pics taken at the Valley of the Temples, which feature the Byodo-In Buddhist temple, still came out nice. Still trying to figure out how they built that place without using a single nail! Another series of photos is from a hike that Kim and I took in the jungle below the Pali Lookout. It was an extremely humid, 2-hr hike but we very much enjoyed seeing some of the native plants, trees, fruits and foliage. And the waterfall along the way was spectacular! We both still have souveneirs from the hike...the mud on our tennis shoes that won't come off! I hope you enjoy the pics! Click here to see them |
